This MBA research examines how Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) influences economic growth across the six Western Balkan countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
Guided by Dunning’s Eclectic Paradigm (OLI), the study combines comparative analysis, CEFTA and OECD reports, desk research and interviews with investors and experts. It explores investment incentives, regional competitiveness and the principal barriers affecting the business environment.
The findings highlight FDI’s contribution to capital formation, employment, technology and knowledge transfer. They also demonstrate that attracting sustainable investment requires stronger regional cooperation, macroeconomic stability, fewer administrative barriers, effective institutions and a stronger rule of law.
